Called

We are all called by God. Sometimes it can be hard to hear where God is calling us. In thinking about being called I am reminded of the story of Elijah. Elijah stood on the mountain waiting for the Lord to pass. There was a great wind, an earthquake, and a fire, but the Lord was not found in any of these. Instead the Lord was in the sound of sheer silence. In order to hear our call we must take time to be silent, to just listen and observe. As students we are called to be studious, respectful, and hard working. Some are called to do music while others are called to be athletes. Some are called to participate on Forensic and Debate teams. In high school we are asked to begin trying to discern our call. Where are we headed? Listen closely to where God is calling you now to help you answer where you need to be.
