Fall

Do you remember hearing the popular song, There is a Season? It’s based on the Bible verses from Ecclesiastes, chapter 3. The song says that there is “A time to be born, a time to die. A time to plant, a time to reap.” This song reminds me of the change of season, especially of Fall. Fall encourages us to let go of the attachments in our life. Like the leaves on the tree that let-go of the branches and find new freedom floating in the air. Our faith and the life of Jesus encourage us to let-go of the attachments in our lives to be carried by the freedom of God’s love. If you feel like you are overly attached to your I-pod, TV, video games, or to a busy schedule, allow yourself time away from that attachment. Replace it with spending time with family members, talking with a lonely person, or praying to God. You may just experience what the rush of letting-go is all about.
