Stewardship

What is stewardship? Good question! Stewardship is how we manage the gifts we’ve been given by God. Why? We’ve been given these gifts to be the hands and feet of God here on earth – to bring His love to people God puts in our day. What are gifts? Little boxes wrapped in pretty paper with a bow? No. Gifts from God are sometimes not even visible to the eye – like the gift of friendship, the gift of organization, of hospitality, preaching, healing, teaching and these are just a few!

Everyone has been given gifts. It may be hard to figure out what gifts you have been given. Look at what you are good at, what you are interested in and the activities you choose for your free time. Then think about how you use those gifts in the course of your day. If you have the gift of friendship, all the little things you say or do to help or encourage someone at school, home or at work is stewardship. If you have the gift of preaching, you may help someone remember to bring God into their day or into a tough situation. That is stewardship. Stewardship is using your gifts and using them in the way intends for you. Today, ask God to show you how to use your gifts to bring His love to someone. You will be blessed many times more than what you have given.
