Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving weekend marks the official start of the holiday season. For some people, it’s a time to get a jump start on Christmas shopping. Many people make Thanksgiving a time to relax and gather with family or friends to share a meal, catch up on the latest news, or perhaps, watch a game on TV. Regardless of how you spend your weekend, it is an ideal time to reflect on all the ways you have been blessed by God and others.

You may find it easy to see blessings in your life. You can name people or things that have enriched your life or added to your happiness. You may think of special events or times you have celebrated with family or friends. Your Catholic faith is also a blessing. Through our faith we can come to know God more deeply and are able to recognize how He is guiding us in our lives. Faith in God is a precious gift. Without it, we can miss out on so much of the joy life has to offer. This Thanksgiving, make time to show your gratitude to those that have blessed your life. Share a kind word or write a note of thanks to someone in your family. And remember to also thank God for the many blessings He has given you.
