Reflection of the Week
Dec. 11, 2006

Quiet

At this time of year life can become extremely hectic. With Christmas shopping and getting together with friends and family life can seem busy. It is easy in this time to become bogged down by everything that needs to be done. The most important thing that we can do for ourselves is take some time to be quiet. Meditation is a very powerful form of prayer that allows us time to breathe. In this time of preparation it is important that we take time to quiet our lives and to reflect on what is happening. In this second week of advent we celebrate peace. We celebrate the peace that came into this world over 2000 years ago. A way to experience that peace is to take time to be quiet and to relax. In allowing ourselves that time of quiet we can become more rested and truly experience the peace that Jesus brought into the world.
